How To Create Pluggable Database In Oracle 12c

In this blog, We will see the command to create the pluggable database in oracle 12c multitenent architecture.

  1. Create the required directory
  2. Put the source database in closed status
  3. Fire the following command to create new pluggable database
  4. Open the newly created pluggable database

Create pluggable database using seed database

create pluggable database PDBCDB admin user testuser identified by testuserpwd FILE_NAME_CONVERT=(‘/data/app/oracle/oradata/cdb1/pdbseed’,’/data/app/oracle/oradata/cdb1/pdbcdb’);

Create pluggable database using existing pluggable database.

  1. Create the required directory
  2. Put the source database in closed status
  3. Fire the following command to create new pluggable database
  4. Open the newly created pluggable database

CREATE PLUGGABLE DATABASE PDBCDB2 FROM PDBCDB1 FILE_NAME_CONVERT=( ‘/data/app/oracle/oradata/pdbcdb1/’, ‘/ data /app/oracle/oradata/ pdbcdb2/’);
